About Dr. Adolph

Dr. J. Mitchell Adolph, Chiropractor

Dr. Adolph is a third generation chiropractor, a Baltimore native, and an alumnus of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (Poly “A” Course). “During my junior year at Poly, I decided I wanted to make helping people through chiropractic my life’s work,” says Dr. Adolph. “So it was easy for me to streamline my education toward that goal.”

After graduating from the National College of Chiropractic (now the National University of Health Sciences) in 1979, he practiced with his uncle, Dr. Richard Adolph, whose chiropractic practice was in Towson.

In 1981, Dr. Adolph opened Adolph Family Chiropractic in Perry Hall. In 2004, Dr. Adolph opened SpinaLife in Lutherville, where he currently practices.

Dr. Adolph’s practice philosophy is that the human body is a self-healing and self-regulating organism. The nervous system is the master system of the body, controlling and coordinating the function of every cell, tissue, and organ. Spinal misalignments, called subluxations, cause nerve interference, pain, and other health problems. Other common causes of pinched nerves include disc degeneration, disc herniation, and spinal stenosis. Chiropractic adjustments correct subluxations to remove nerve interference, relieve pain, and restore health to the body.

In 2005, Dr. Adolph became a pioneer in the use of Spinal Decompression Therapy, being among the first to offer this treatment in Maryland.

Dr. Adolph is a serious photographer and enjoys recreational golf and tennis. He is a fan of the Ravens and Orioles. He, his wife Theresa, and their three girls, Alex, Andi, and Lili, live in Glen Arm.
